Bruce Jackson is a performer and teacher of the double bass. He has studied with faculty from Indiana University and SUNY Empire State College where he earned a bachelors degree for studies in music. He expanded his music study with teachers and performers in the New York tri state area.
His has appeared with the Phoenicia Festival of the Voice opera orchestra, the Delaware Valley Opera Company, the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, the Northern Dutchess Symphony in Rhinebeck and the Greater Newburgh Symphony. He has also participated in concerts and performances with the Hudson Opera Theater.
Currently he teaches double bass at Bard College and SUNY Ulster where he holds an adjunct faculty position.
He has been a strong supporter of the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster Counties since its inception and performs in many string ensembles with their Ellenville and SUNY Ulster orchestras.
