Staff at MISU will coach duets, trios, quartets, quintets, etc. of any instrument combination! We highly encourage our students taking private lessons to play with other musicians in a small-group. It may be that you want to join one of our four orchestras, or you may just want to learn to play that duet that you’ve always loved. Any reason at all is good enough to gain the benefits of playing ensemble.
Meeting times for the five orchestras during the school year:
I. MISU Community String Ensemble: Rehearsals at the Ellenville studio; Sundays from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM; for NYSSMA level 3 and beyond
II. MISU Youth Orchestra: Rehearsals at the Ellenville studio; Sundays from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM; for teenagers NYSSMA level 3 and beyond.
III. MISU Children’s Orchestra: Rehearsals at the Ellenville studio; day and time TBA
IV. MISU Adult Beginners’ Orchestra: For adults only. Rehearsals at the Ellenville studio location. (Minimum enrollment: 6 members.) Days and times TBA

During the summer:
I. MISU Summer Community Orchestra: Rehearsals at the Ellenville studio location in Ellenville, NY; Mondays from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM; for NYSSMA level 3 and beyond (Beginner to advanced level string players)
