Jill Pruitt grew up learning to play classical violin in the Suzuki program in her hometown of Amarillo, Tx. After graduating from high school, she attended Colby College in Maine where she received her BA in Music. Jill has taught violin in Suzuki programs in both Maine and Vermont before transitioning to a more individualized style of teaching based on what the children learning violin respond to best. She currently utilizes the Suzuki materials and much of the approach while also incorporating traditional resources to bring children the best possible experience.
In addition to lessons designed to help children learn to play violin, Jill also offers lessons for students looking to improve their skills in orchestra! Using orchestra music that the student is already learning, the focus of these lessons is to help improve technique while learning more about how each part of the music fits together to make a whole.
Learning to play an instrument can be difficult, but learning to love music shouldn’t be!
Jill currently offers private violin lessons for children of any age as well as for parents who are interested in learning along with their children. Suzuki groups will be offered soon as well!
