Master Class Series: Voice

This master class will be run by MISU faculty member Susan Parkyn. Ms. Parkyn is a performing artist, voice instructor, lecturer, & artistic director. Graduating with Bachelor’s & Master’s Degrees in Voice with honors & awards from West Chester University, she has studied with distinguished artists such as : Gerhard Huesch, William Murray, William Shriner, Fritz Krueger and Lois Williams. She has appeared in recital, orchestral, operatic, chamber music series & musical theatre, singing works of noted composers & portraying numerous dramatic roles.

The Voice Masterclass Presentation is designed to focus upon the care, use and artistic development of the instrument through healthy technique and varied repertoire for the voice. many important and critical issues will be presented and discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to perform representative repertoire supplied by the instructor which will demonstrate the many historic styles of music written for the voice from the classic to the contemporary. optional solo performance by participants and selected listening will close the presentation,. this class is created to develop all singers, male and female, beginning and advanced, to enrich their vocal experience and artistic commitment to further advance and excel.
