Vitalis Im


Vitalis Im is a tenor and voice teacher residing in the greater Hudson Valley area.

Recent performances include solo appearances with The Orchestra Now under the baton of Maestro Leon Botstein at the Richard B. Center for the Performing Arts in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY and productions with the Bard College Conservatory Orchestra at Bard College. Recently performed opera roles include Sam from Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, Eisenstein from Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Tito from Mozart’s Clemenza di Tito, and the titular character of Verdi’s Don Carlos.

Vitalis teaches voice through his studios in Ellenville, NY and Red Hook, NY. He is currently on staff as a voice teacher at the New Windsor Music Academy in New Windsor, NY and the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster Counties in Ellenville, NY. As a voice teacher and vocal coach, Vitalis has extensive experience working with students of all ages and abilities. He specializes in teaching classical music, but often works with singers and actors looking to develop techniques suitable for popular music and musical theater.

Vitalis has participated in masterclasses and workshops with eminent musicians including cellist Luis García-Renart, tenor Rufus Müller, and directors Nic Muni and Rod Gomez; currently, Vitalis studies voice with Ilka LoMonaco. Vitalis is a graduate of Bard College, where he studied music, anthropology, and ethnomusicology. He will be pursuing doctoral studies in social work and anthropology at the University of Michigan beginning in the fall of 2018.
