A prominent musician in the Hudson Valley since graduating from Ithaca College with a Music Performance degree, Andrea Shaut is well known for her collaborative and solo piano work. She has been the piano accompanist for the prestigious West Point Military Academy Glee Club since 2010. A few noted performances with this talented choir include the Louisiana Governor’s Inauguration, an NFL sponsored SuperBowl party opening for Blake Shelton & Jon Stewart, performing with Trace Adkins at The Grand Ole Opry, and a recording session at the world famous Skywalker Sound in California.
Andrea founded the Hudson Valley Recital Project, a recital series with the mission to strengthen community and education through music, with programs as diverse as Women in Music to An Italian Dinner Show. As a concert pianist, Andrea has performed as soloist with SUNY Ulster Wind Ensemble and regularly performs solo recitals throughout the Hudson Valley. In 2014, she released her debut CD, Simple Beauty, a collection of solo piano music dedicated to the memory of her grandmother. Andrea is the keyboardist for the award-winning Kazz Music Orchestra, Hudson Valley’s premier wedding band. Other career highlights have been playing organ at a NY Yankee game, traveling abroad (Hungary, Italy, Austria) with the Hudson Valley Youth Chorale, accompanying musicians at Maverick Concerts in Woodstock, performing Carmina Burana at Opus 40 with Ars Choralis, playing in Aruba with the Ageless Jazz Band, and collaborating with many professional musicians for concert recitals. Andrea is also on the Adjunct Faculty at SUNY Ulster, where she teaches piano, as well as maintaining her own private studio. Other regular performing groups include The Father/Daughter Duo, The Shaut Three-O, and the Dan Shaut Swing Orchestra.
